How to Open Your Trailer's Lockbox
Every trailer in our fleet has its own igloohome smart lockbox mounted to the frame. Inside the lockbox are the trailer’s coupler key and any accessories included with the rental. The lockbox opens with a PIN that’s unique to your rental and active only during your rental window.
Step-by-step
- Confirm you’re at the right trailer. Each trailer in our yard has a unique number — your booking confirmation tells you which one is yours.
- Wake the keypad with a quick tap on any key. The keypad will light up.
- Enter your PIN. PINs are typically 7–9 digits. Take your time — entering it slowly and clearly works better than typing fast.
- Press the # key (or wait a beat) to confirm. The keypad will indicate success with a light/sound, then the lockbox will release.
- Open the box and remove the keys and any accessories. Take out only what’s listed in your rental confirmation.
- Close and re-secure the lockbox. (You’ll re-use the same PIN to return the key after your rental — the box stays mounted to the trailer.)

If the PIN doesn't work
- Double-check your booking confirmation. Make sure you’re entering the PIN for the right trailer.
- Confirm you’re inside your rental window. PINs activate at the start of your reservation and deactivate when it ends. If you’re 30 minutes early, the PIN won’t work yet.
- Try entering it again, slowly. A misread digit is the most common reason for a failed entry.
- Check that the keypad is responding (light comes on, beeps when pressed). If it’s dead, the battery has likely failed.
- Call or text us at (512) 782-4676. We can issue a new PIN remotely or unlock the box from our end.

If you can't reach us immediately
Our response time is within 30 minutes during business hours and within 2 hours overnight. While you wait, you can take a photo of the lockbox and the trailer (good record-keeping in case of any dispute), and the Texas Pro Promise covers any issue at pickup.
